FAQ

How far in advance should I book my session?

You should book your session as far in advance as you can, this will ensure I will have a session available and am not already booked.

How long will my session last?

Usually 1 hour for family sessions and 2-3 hours for newborn sessions, if conditions are perfect it could even be a touch quicker.

Can I request specific photos to be taken (IE grandchildren/grandparents, solo of kids, etc)

Yes definitely, after you have booked a session with me I will send you a questionnaire to fill out encouraging you to give me ideas/examples of what photos you would like me to take.

Can our pets be a part of our photos?

Absolutely!  My fur babies Zeke and Bensley are part of the family and I am sure there are many of us who feel the same way; I certainly have no problem with family pets participating in our sessions.

I know what kind of look I want but I’m not sure what locations to achieve it, can you suggest options?

Yes definitely, after you book a session and fill out the questionnaire we can go through location options that suit your style.

What comes with the packages?

I have a number of packages available to suit all budgets.  You can check them out here:

Will these images be posted online or any social networks?

That is completely up to you.  Though I own the copyright on each of the images, I will only use them on my website, blog and/or Facebook if you have given me permission to do so in the contract you sign before your session.

How do we go about securing our session?

The session is not secured until the contract is signed and the deposit paid.

What time of day is best for a portrait session?

The late afternoon (golden hour) is by far the best light for portrait sessions.  The golden light is beautiful, and not harsh like it is during the middle of the day.  Your images will benefit from choosing this time of the day for your session.

What happens if you’re sick or are unable to shoot the session on the scheduled day?

If you are sick please give me a call as soon as possible so we can reschedule your session.

I prefer black & white images will you edit them in colour and black & white?

Most images I will do a colour and a black & white version for you, the only exception to this is if I decide either colour or black & white do not suit that particular image.

Do you offer professional retouching (ie pimple removal)?

Yes, this does not cost any extra.  Usually with pimples I remove them as they will most likely not even be there the following week.  If you have something more permanent you would like me to hide or remove just speak to me before the session.

How long does it take to get the photos back?

I usually take up to two weeks to edit your images, then depending on what products/package you ordered it can take two to three weeks  for me to receive them from the professional print lab I use.   I do ask that you allow 4 – 6 weeks in case of unforeseen circumstances.

What should we wear?

Wardrobe should be comfortable and reflect who you are. I do not recommend matching but rather coordinating. See my PINTEREST board for some what to wear guides that can give you an idea of what I am talking about.
